‘I have never seen the water this high’: Flood warnings in place ahead of Christmas

Flood warnings continue to be in place as rural areas are battered with heavy winds and rain.

 

The Met Office says 63 flood warnings are in place – meaning flooding is expected and action is required – as well as 175 flood alerts.

 

It said local river flooding in parts of south-east England was expected until Tuesday (December 24), while the same could be said for the middle and lower River Severn today (December 23).

Local groundwater flooding is also expected in parts of Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, West and East Sussex and Brighton for ‘at least the next five days’.

 

One sheep farmer in Dorset took to twitter with a video of water she said had never been ‘this high’.
