Lancaster dairy sale tops at £2,220

The pedigree Holstein Bilsrow Paulo Shower from D.J. and S. Tomlinson, Bilsborrow, Preston, won Lancaster’s Christmas dairy show and sale judged by John Harrison, Penrith.

 

Taking the reserve championship rosette was the second place halter-led heifer, Wyredale Sid Crocus 40, from M.J. and H. Atkinson, Quernmore, Lancaster.

All heifers met a firm straight trade, topping at £2,220 for the second place non-halter-led heifer, Witherslack Meridian Lynn from Messers Inman, Strickland Hill. The Tomlinsons’ champion realised £1,600, while the reserve made £1,880, selling to local buyers Mark and Peter Hewitt, Cockerham.

AVERAGES
