Netherton Evita N734 leads Aberdeen Angus junior championship

Females dominated the Aberdeen Angus junior championship show at the Livestock Event

The Aberdeen Angus Society’s National junior championship saw judge, Neil Wattie, Aberdeen tap out two females as his championship winners.

 

Led by Seonaid McLaren, Netherton Evita N734 is a Netherton Big Edition H460 daughter, out of Dunira Eudora H458

 

It was the breed’s female and reserve champion at the Royal Highland and yearling champion at the AgriExpo’s Winter Nationals, Carlisle. 

 

Mr Wattie gave his reserve honours to the Isle of Skye’s Donald Rankin with the 15-month old Retties Lady Ruth P280.

 

Bought from and shown by Richard Rettie, Alloa, the Rawburn Elysium F547 daughter, out of Wall Lady Ruth E397 was breed and reserve inter-breed champion at Doune and Dunblane and Central andWest Fife Shows.

 

The male section saw Shadwell Estate, Suffolk triumph with Shadwell Jimuta Eric P729. Sired by the prolific Netherallan Peter Pershore and out of Shadwell Jury EricaK468, this was it's first major title.

 

Close behind in reserve and standing second behind the male champion in it's class was the January-2014 born Rull Fusion P164 from Edward and Clare Jones, Devon.

 

Out of Rull Frances K114, it is also sired by Netherton Big Edition H460 and was shown by Andrew Hughes.

 

Native and reserve overall at the Cornwall Calf Show and champion at the South of England Calf Show, it will be sold during the major reduction of the family's herd at Carlisle auction in October.
