The next tranche of the Government’s Rural Business Support grants are now open to applications.
A new tranche of Government funded grants for rural businesses has been launched and is open for applications.
As part of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), the Business Support scheme offers grant funding for between £35,000 to £140,000, at 40 per cent of eligible costs.
It is hoped the grants will help micro and small businesses in rural areas create new jobs, improve tourism and support farm businesses looking to diversify into non-agricultural activities.
Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) areas currently open for applications include:
Included within the EAFRD are food processing grants, for businesses which process agricultural and horticultural products.
These grants aim to help businesses gain access to various national and international markets, by developing new or existing products, by creating new processing facilities.
While the small scale tourism infrastructure grants are available to help tourism grow in rural areas by attracting more visitors, the tourism co-operation grants are to improve co-operation in the rural tourism sector in order to increase visitor numbers to specific destinations.
Deadlines for the grants are either November 27, 2015 or January 8, 2015 depending on their location.
