MORE FROM THE AGM

Alice, who lives In withnell, hails from a farming background with her family running pedigree beef herds and is involved with a new diversification project producing gin from the farm’s barley.

A club member since 2006, Alice has undertaken various committee roles and is responsible for launching the social media accounts for both the Lancashire county and her own club, which have helped recruit large numbers of new members.

On her win, Alice said: “To win at the county round was amazing enough, but to win this is unbelievable, it means the absolute world to me. I think this is the proudest achievement of my life.

“Ever since I started Young Farmers in 2006, I have dedicated my time and energy to doing what’s best for my club, so to win means everything.”

Coming in joint second, was Katy Kirkham from East Midlands, and Carys Ann Thomas from Wales.
