Allanfauld gimmer sells at 22,000gns at Lanark

ARCHIE and John MacGregor’s Allanfauld flock, Kilsyth led the trade at Lanark’s Crackers sale of Texel females taking the top two prices of 22,000gnsand 12,000gns.

Leading the way was an ET-bred shearling gimmer by Knap You’re the Man out of a dam by Baltier Wellington. It sold carrying to Plasucha Class Act and with an index in the top 10 per cent of the breed to Procters Farm, Lancashire.

 

Next from Allanfauld and second top of the day was a full ET sister the sale topper, this time in-lamb to Garngour Bullet which was bought by Bruce Renwick for the Castlecairn flock, Kelso.

At 7,500gns was a ewe lamb from Myfyr Evans’ Rhaeadr flock, Mold. The daughter of Garngour Alabama out of a dam by 145,000gns Knap Vicious Sid was knocked down to James Amphlett and Ellie Owens, Leominster.

 

At 5,200gns was another ewe lamb, this time from Brian Hanthorn’s Mullan flock, Northern Ireland. By Deveronvale Aftershock, it sold to Andrew Nielson for the Brackenridge flock, Strathaven.

 

Averages - 57 gimmers, £1,658.26; 8 ewe lambs, £2,447.06.
