Arla has confirmed it will hold its price for September 2019, with its conventional milk remaining at 30.22ppl and 41.97ppl for organic milk.
Arla Foods amba board director, and farmer owner, Arthur Fearnall, said: “European Milk production in 2019 remains in line with 2018 overall and has enabled Arla to hold the milk price for the eighth month in a row.
“Commodity markets remained quiet and the impact of the continued reduction in butter prices is being offset by increases in skimmed milk powder.
“Whole milk powder has seen some softening as a result of the strong start to the New Zealand milk season while Organic markets and commodity prices for cheese remain largely steady.”
Graham Wilkinson, UK Agriculture Director at Arla continues: “Working together with our customers and farmer owners from farm to fork has seen Arla move up one place, to become the 13th most valuable food brand in the world.
“Meeting expectations when it comes to consumer food choices for brands which prioritise health, nutrition, animal welfare and the environment continues to be a priority for Arla and it is this which drives our business growth and will enable Arla to continue to deliver a sustainable milk price.”
