A new Farm Management Development Programme has been developed with farmers, for farmers.
The course, which is open for applications at Bishop Burton College is aimed at helping develop young people in a management type position in farming or rural business.
It has benefited from funding from The Princes Countryside Fund, Chadacre Agricultural Trust and the Hadleigh Farmers Agricultural Association.
Students will learn from shared experiences, as well as hearing from industry chiefs on topics ranging from preparing a whole farm budget, the analysis of farm accounts, people management, motivation, leadership and leadership styles, machinery costs, understanding the costs of production, how to benchmark against other farm businesses, communication skills, time management, marketing, resource planning and risk management.
Applications close on September 30 with two week long programmes commencing in November 2016 and February 2017.
