Children across Pembrokeshire have been offered the chance to learn more about food and farming in a bid to challenge increasing farm myths.
By attending the three-day Pembrokeshire County Show, with an allocated free ticket, primary school children will be able to take part in a ‘food information trail’ to follow the steps from farm to fork and enhance their knowledge of local produce and low food miles.

Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society Ltd will also kick-start a first-of-its-kind live milking event in Wales with forty local Holstein cows milked by robots.
It came in response to a British Nutrition Foundation (BNF) survey which revealed one in five children believed fish fingers were made of chicken and 29 per cent of five to seven-year-olds thought cheese came from a plant.
Primary schools should expect to receive a show pack from Pembrokeshire County Council to encourage more children to get involved and learn about the role of agriculture and its local importance in the county.
Tickets for the upcoming show, August 15-17, are available from www.pembsshow.org.
