CNH has revealed its revamped range topping conventional tractors, featuring new cab layouts and increased connectivity.

After weeks of rumours and leaked photos circulating the interweb, CNH Industrial finally revealed its new Case IH Magnum and New Holland T8 at the National Farm Machinery Show, Louisville, Kentucky, USA.

The new SideWinder Ultra armrest in the T8 series sees clusters of buttons for all machine functions neatly laid out across the right hand side. Nine buttons are programmable, and all eight hydraulic remote valves can be controlled from as many as 15 buttons, giving operators plenty of choice.

The redesigned MultiControl armrest in the Magnum has eight control buttons, a MultiFunction proportional drive lever incorporating four programmable function buttons and an encoder knob for total control at the operator’s fingertips.

Across both cabs, increased heating, ventilation and air conditioning system performance, relocated vents and new ergonomic seats are said to boost the operator environment. Extra storage, power ports and egress lights have been added to the cab.

Externally both the CNH ranges see new 360 degree LED lighting packages added said to increase visible light by 25 per cent. Safety has also been considered with two strategically placed cameras helping navigate roads.

While the roof line of the T8 has been redesigned in line with the rest of the manufacturer’s ranges, the Magnum sees a more aggressively sculpted bonnet fitted, similar in style to that of the Optum Series.

Connectivity

CNH says the most innovative features of the two new ranges extend further than the cab, to the respective company’s precision farming suites, AFS Connect (Advanced Farming Systems) for Case IH and PLM Intelligence (Precision Land Management) for New Holland.

Both systems are now fully integrated into the tractors says CNH, with full control given through the armrest-mounted IntelliView 12 monitor in the T8 and AFS Pro 1200 display in the Magnum.

GPS guidance, agronomic data and IsoBus Class 3 control are all accessed through the screen, which can be remotely monitored and supported by managers and dealers, leading to increased uptime and efficiency, says CNH.

Power outputs, transmission options and UK availability have not been released yet, however the new cab layout is expected to be filtered down the ranges at some point.
