Aimed at yard duties such as scraping and bedding on livestock farms, McCormick has introduced a no frills, 74hp tractor model to its range.
This 74hp X4.35M has been selected from a new simple McCormick series as an ideal scraper tractor option for UK dairy farmers.
Originally developed for markets which only require very simple tractors, the X4.35M is part of McCormick’s latest X4M Series.
Ray Spinks, AgriArgo general manager and sales director says; “It’s not the sort of tractor we would normally sell in the UK, but we recognised what a great low-cost, mid-size scraper tractor the X4.35M would be.”
The 74hp X4.35M’s specification is kept as simple as possible, with the 12 by 12 transmission operated by right- and left-hand levers. A 30kph 16 by 16 creep option is available.
The new X4.35M is powered by a naturally aspirated, mechanical fuel injection, 4.4-litre Perkins 1104D-44 engine, which is built to Stage 3 emissions rules. This keeps the price down, says the manufacturer, as it lacks the expensive exhaust gas treatment equipment which adds cost.
As standard, the newcomer has a mechanical clutch and 12 by 12, 40kph shuttle gearbox with 540rpm pto.
Radial rear tyres (14.9R28) are included for good grip and long service life, with a 12.4R36 no-cost option on the four-wheel drive version enabling buyers to shave a few centimetres off overall width.
A dual element hydraulic pump provides 20-litre/min dedicated to steering and 45-litre/min to supply the 2,700kg rear linkage and either one or two single/double-acting spool valves.
With no cab and a hose-friendly platform, the X.35M can be specified as either two- or four-wheel drive.
On-farm prices are expected to be about £17,950 for the two-wheel drive version, and £19,950 for four wheel drive.
