The dispersal of the Homebyres Limousin herd at Carlisle on behalf of John Logan, Kelso, Roxburghshire, peaked at 26,000gns for a cow and calf.
This was the four-year-old second calver, Homebyres Lovely by Ampertaine Foreman out of Homebyres Beauty which bred 17,000gns Homebyres Ericson. Having run with Homebyres Iveson and AI’d to Goldies Nelson, it sold for 17,000gns to D.J. McKerrow and Son, Scottish Borders.
Lovely’s seven-month-old bull calf, Homebyres Prodigy by Fieldson Alfy made 9,000gns to W.E. Ralph, Inverness.
Maiden heifers sold to 14,000gns for two-year-old Homebyres Nicity, a daughter of Larkhill Julius and out of Homebyres Duplicity which went to an undisclosed buyer.
Two more maiden heifers made 10,000gns apiece. First was Homebyres Oddyssey, a daughter of Lowerffrydd Empire knocked down to F.C. Tomlinson and Son, South Leverton, Nottinghamshire.
At the same figure was Homebyres Olive, again by Larkhill Julius which was bought by A.L. Campbell, Carstairs Junction.
