Business start-ups behind technologies which could provide game changing solutions for the food industry are being invited to pitch their ideas as part of a global competition.
FoodBytes! by Rabobank is hoping to find the most cutting-edge start-ups pioneering the future of food and agriculture.
It has a focus on finding sustainable solutions to feed the world’s growing population, whilst minimising the carbon footprint of the food and agriculture industry.
Last year’s winner was Rootwave, a system which uses electricity to kill weeds.
Chief executive Andrew Diprose said: “Winning FoodBytes was great for RootWave as it gave us a global platform to let the world know how we are launching a scalable and sustainable alternative to chemical herbicides.”
Participants will benefit from intensive mentoring sessions from industry experts, whilst connecting with leading corporates, investors and fellow start-ups to help scale their business.
