Extra spec choice for Massey Ferguson’s Global Series tractors

Extending the specification choice of its ‘basic’ Global Series tractors, Massey Ferguson is launching two new 5700 models featuring powershift transmissions.

Complementing the firm’s existing 4700 and 5700 Global Series tractors (from 75hp to 110hp) which feature a manual 12 by 12 gearbox, the new models will get MF’s Dyna-4 transmission offering four powershifts in four ranges.

 

Rated at 85hp and 95hp, the two new models will be powered by 3.3-litre, three-cylinder, Agco Power engines.

 

Operation of the transmission can be with either the firm’s left-hand Power Control lever (shuttle) or the console-mounted T-lever, affording clutch-less range changes. In addition, an optional automatic transmission mode can be specified which changes gears automatically, according to engine load and speed.

A further option includes the firm’s brake to neutral function which sees neutral engaged whenever the brakes are depressed.

 

For extra comfort, cab suspension can also be specified on the new models. The entirely mechanical system employs two block bushes to support the cab at the front, with a pair of spring-assisted shock absorbers mounted on the two rear corners. The system requires no operator input, with the damping set to pre-determined levels by the shock absorbers and springs.

 

The two new additions will make their debut at this year’s Agritechnica, Hanover in November.
