The incident happened on Thursday (March 24) shortly before midday on a farm in George Nympton, Devon.
Devon and Somerset Police said the man was ‘trapped by his leg’ in the machine up to his thigh.
A spokesman said: “A 30-year-old man was trapped by his foot and leg in the machine. We were alerted by the ambulance service.
“The man was released from the machinery and lowered to the floor. He was still conscious.
“The police have been informed. The incident happened on a farm along a road between Cafanymet and Limers Lane Cross.”
The man was released using hydraulic cutting equipment and safety working at height equipment. He was then taken to hospital by air ambulance.
