LIMOUSIN bulls sold to achieve a total clearance at Brecon, with trade averaging £4,215, up £487 on the year.
Michael and Melanie Alford, Cullompton, Devon, took the top price ticket of 6,000gns with Foxhillfarm Miami. After standing supreme champion in the pre-sale show, the January 2016-born bull sold to K.J. and L.J. Jones, Pembrokeshire.
An ET calf by Sympa, it is out of the record-breaking 125,000gns Glenrock Illusion.
Two bulls reached 5,700gns, paid first for the August 2015-born Killerton Larkspur from P.W. and S.M. Greed, Exeter. By Wilodge Cerberus and out of Rosecroft Hero, it went home with W.T.L. Walters, Powys.
Also at 5,700gns was Twemlows Laurence, a Wilodge Goldcard son out of Twemlows Foxtrot. Bred by W.L. and J.A. Forrester, Whitchurch, and born in September 2015, it was knocked down to Shire Leasing, Tamworth.
In the pre-sale show another from the Forresters, this time Twemlows Lowry, had taken the reserve supreme title.
This September 2015-born bull is by the Swarland Eddie and is out of Twemlows Finegem. It sold to M. and J.E. Jones and Davies, Newtown, for 5,600gns.
Leading the maiden heifers at 2,150gns was another from the Forrester family. By Twemlows Dynamite and out of Twemlows Ulrika, it sold to P.D. and I.V. Pritchard, Crickhowell, Powys.
