Group of breeders call for Limousin Society EGM following 'grave concerns'

In a letter to the Society’s members, the group say they would like the meeting to consider a resolution of lost confidence in the management of the society by the council.

Reasons for this proposed vote of no confidence centre on decisions made by the council regarding the ongoing Ballinloan Jagerbomb dispute, the resignation of four council members, poor financial management, and the loss of five members of staff in the las 12 months.

Record losses

The letter states poor financial management has led to ‘record’ losses of about £200,000. The group say: “This is the first time in over 30 years that a trading loss has been posted. Budget warnings were ignored, and proposals are already planned for members to pay increased fees for services.”

The group is also dissatisfied with the lack of communication about the staff losses, which include the society’s chief executive Iain Kerr.

The proposal has already been endorsed by nine past chairmen of the society, but to organise the EGM there is a legal requirement to have the support of 5 per cent of the members, which equates to signatures from 126 individuals.
