Harsh introduces hook-lift trailers to its portfolio

Well known for its hydraulic products in the commercial vehicle market, Harsh UK is branching out into agriculture for the first time with the introduction of a hook lift trailer into its portfolio.

Harsh reckons its new hook lift trailers can be used for a wide variety of jobs.

Manufactured in Italy, the ITRunner has been in production for a number of years, with more than 1,000 units produced and sold into mainland Europe. The range spans from eight tonne up to 30 tonne lift/tip capacities, with twin or triple axles depending on model.

Using just one chassis, one tractor and one driver, the ITRunner allows users to load, tip and transport a multitude of different body attachments, says the firm. This could be a tipping body, tanker, container or muck spreader, for example.

As a result, Harsh reckons because you are not buying a whole tanker, for example, the cost of these body attachments is roughly a third, as there is no expensive running gear (axles, tyres, brakes, suspension, etc). It adds; the more diverse the farm, the more this concept comes into its own.

The ITRunner can be used with various bodies.

In addition, the ITRunner is fully compatible with all commercial hook lift containers and is built to British C.H.E.M. standards, meaning it could be used in much the same way as a truck, but at a fraction of the cost, says Harsh. Optional features include hydraulic or air suspension, lifting axles and wireless remote control.

The new hook lift trailers are available now from Harsh UK, with prices starting from £21,000 for the smallest unit, ITRunner 8.12. Harsh suggests the most popular model in the UK will be the 16 tonne lift/tip capacity, 16.21 with a price of £27,000.
