'It could easily have been fatal' - lucky escape for tractor driver after crash

A TRACTOR driver was lucky to escape any injury after a serious crash with a car in Blackburn.

The incident happened in Broken Stone Road at around 8am this morning.

 

The female driver, who is in her 30s, was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital with pelvic injuries after being cut from her car by firefighters.

 

Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

 

 

The driver of the tractor is not thought to be injured.

 

An eyewitness said: "The car was in a right mess. This could have easily been fatal for both people involved."

 

Investigation work was being carried out and a fuel spillage at the scene was cleared up.
