Herefordshire-based brothers Chris and Rich Norman and their team from The Leen, Pembridge have won the NMR RABDF Gold Cup 2018.

Runner-up and recipient of the NMR Siler Salver was James Tomlinson with parents David and Sheila and wife Eleanor from Bilsborrow, Lancashire.

The Normans run 600 Friesian-Jersey cross-bred cows on an autumn block calving system, with an emphasis of grazing. The herd is averaging 5,536kg at 4.99 per cent fat and 3.70 per cent protein with a cell count of 97,000 cells per ml and a calving interval of 374 days.

The 162ha farm is also home to a 200,000-bird broiler unit and an anerobic digester.
