NFU Scotland and rural-charity RSABI have launched a new sticker initiative to combat farm pressures and worker stress.
The two organisations hope to encourage farmers and rural workers to spread the stickers - covered with the RSABI confidential helpline- around farms and the countryside to encourage people to ‘reach out and make the call in their time of need’.
RSABI welfare manager Mags Granger said: “When you are having difficulties talking to someone is the starting point for support and help. Often that is a stumbling block for those in farming and crofting.
“At RSABI we understand how interconnected the farm business and household are and when things go wrong, stress and pressure increases, which has a knock-on effect on farmers and their families in so many ways.
“It is much better to get help early on before a problem becomes a crisis.”
Ms Granger said the scheme would ‘listen, support and empower’ farmers and crofters to get the mental and financial help they needed in confidence.
The RSABI helpline can be accessed everyday from 7am to 11pm on 0300 111 4166.
