A farmer is trying to catch a 400kg water buffalo which has been on the run for three days.
The animal, which jumped a gate during a routine weighing, disappeared on Saturday from Clentrie Farm in Auchterool near Kirkcaldy.
Steve Mitchell, owner of The Buffalo Farm where the one-year-old animal escaped from, had appealed on social media for help to locate the animal.
The buffalo was spotted near another farm but has yet to be returned home.
Mr Mitchell is now trying to catch the buffalo - but the attempts have so far been unsuccessful.
A post on The Buffalo Farm’s Facebook page said: "Unfortunatley it seems that a 30-acre field was not good enough for our elusive Buffalo and he was up early doors this morning and has moved on again.
"He was looking quite settled last night laying down after a feed on the silage that we brought him, but this one likes to keep us on our toes.
"The good news is that we know he is well and not injured but the buffalo hunt continues - he was at Shawsmill Farm and we believe that he has headed towards Cardenden again.
"Thanks to everyone for the interest and continued support, and the same applies today,"
