One thing is for sure: We certainly wouldn’t be able to tuck in to that huge stack of pancakes, and the fillings to go with them.

Based on the average amount of pancakes one person will eat, that's almost 13 million kilos of plain flour.

Traditional toppings

 

Sugar and lemon seems to be the classic topping for most,with sixty-three percent saying this is their go-to, but without farmers, we'd have neither of these ingredients.

Savoury toppings

 

Many pancake eaters these days get creative with their toppings and fillings which include anything from plain cheese to ham, spinach and mushrooms.

 

But whatever you decide to pop in the middle of your pancake, it has most definitely been lovingly grown somewhere in the country.
