One dead and another in critical condition after two crashes involving tractors

A man died at the scene of a crash on the A30 in Cornwall between a tractor and car.

A teenage girl has been left fighting for her life in hospital.

The incident happened just after 11.30pm on Saturday at Mount Pleasant Roche, St Austell.

It is believed a blue BMW was travelling west on the A30 but lost control and strayed into the eastbound carriageway, colliding with a tractor and trailer.

Police confirmed the BMW was driven by a 20-year-old male, who died at the scene.

The passenger was a 17-year-old female, who is currently critically ill with life-threatening head injuries.

The 50-year-old was airlifted to hospital after the crash on the A947 between Oldmeldrum and Fyvie in Aberdeenshire.

It happened at about 10:35am on Saturday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A male motorcyclist has sustained, serious, life-changing injuries.

"He has been taken by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary."
