Police in North Wales are appealing for information following the theft of a 12 month old sheepdog named Nell.

Nell was taken from a farm on the outskirts of Dolgellau, Gwynedd.

The black and white sheepdog was wearing a brown collar and was attached to a long chain within an enclosed compound.

Police believe thieves cut a hole in the fence and unclipped her from the chain.

A representative from North Wales police said: "Nell has a distinctive operation scar on her abdomen, and was taken sometime between 5:15 and 5:30pm on Wednesday, November 25.

“We would also like to remind those living in the community that whilst crime is relatively low in the area it is important to take all appropriate actions to deter opportunists and avoid becoming a victim of crimes of this type.”

  • Anyone with information relating to Nel is urged to call PCSO 3480 Gareth Jones at Dolgellau Police Station on 101 quoting reference RC 15180776. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
