Police investigating 'financial irregularities' at Aberdeen Angus Society

Police in Scotland have confirmed investigations are ongoing following reports of alleged ‘financial irregularity’ at the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society’s headquarters in Perth.

Police investigating 'financial irregularities' at Aberdeen Angus Society

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “We have received a report in relation to alleged financial irregularities at the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society.

 

“Enquiries are at an early stage and are ongoing.”

 

Barrie Turner, who took over the role of chief executive at the society in January, following the departure of Johnny Mackey last year, said: “We are working with the police and doing everything we can to bring this to a conclusion.”
