Police issue warning over bogus HS2 officials targeting farms #RuralCrime

Men claiming to represent the Government’s high-speed rail operation have been arriving at farms and demanding access to the land.

Staffordshire Police issued the warning following reports of two bogus HS2 workers operating in the Lichfield area.

PCSO Patrick Wright said: "These males have been driving onto farms in old cars (no make or models identified) with stickers on them.

"They wear high visibility clothing and hard hats and, when challenged, they claimed to be working for HS2 and demand access to the farm.

"If you are approached by anyone in similar circumstances, or see any similar suspicious activity, please contact the police on 101 or 999 in an emergency."
