Police launch investigation after 300 sheep stolen in Mid-Wales

DYFED-POWYS police are investigating reports that more than 300 sheep have been stolen from common grazings across the Eppynt Ranges in Mid Wales over the past few months.

The losses have emerged as farmers gathered flocks in readiness for tupping.

Differences in numbers of around 30 to 50 ewes and lambs have been discovered across a wide area stretching from Upper Chapel in the north to Libanus in the south since turnout following shearing.

NFU Cymru, the Farmers Union of Wales and Dyfed-Powys police are urging anyone who may have seen something suspicious to get in touch.
