THE Rossiebank flock dispersal of Bluefaced Leicesters at Carlisle on behalf of Robert Neil, Perth saw a top call of 4,800gns for a 2016-born ewe which is unbeaten in the showring.
By a Mendick-bred tup out of a Hazelwood-bred dam, it is scanned in-lamb with triplets by a Rossiebank tup and was knocked down to Mike Anderson, Ballindalloch.
Next at 3,500gns was a 2015-born ewe backed by generations of home-bred sheep, it is scanned in lamb with triplets by a home-bred tup. It went home with Messrs Forster and Son, Hexham.
Following this at 3,200gns was a 2016-born ewe by a Mendick-bred tup out of a home-bred ewe with Hazelwood breeding. It is scanned in-lamb with twins by a home-bred tup and also sold to Mr Anderson.
Realising 3,000gns and selling to Messrs Baynes, Inverness was a ewe hogg with generations of Rossiebank breeding.
Again, realising 3,000gns was a home-bred, 2018-born stock tup by a Burndale tup and out of the sale’s top priced ewe, which was champion at Dumfries show in 2018. It sold to Messrs MacNiven, Perth.
Three further ewes sold for the same money to Messrs Johnson, Bishop Auckland, Messrs Quinn, Fife and Messrs Proctor and Sons, Aberdeenshire.
