A Welsh farmer was shocked to discover six border collie puppies dumped in his livestock trailer.
Carwyn Thomas, who farms near Llannerchymedd, Wales, found six ‘poorly malnourished sheepdog pups’ abandoned in his livestock trailer on Saturday June 27 when he went into the yard at 7.30am.
After moving the pups to a clean warm stable, and feeding them, Mr Thomas posted a photograph on Facebook to see if anyone recognised the abandoned collies, and was ‘inundated with offers of help’.
Mr Thomas said: "It was overwhelming really, the offers of help and I am very grateful.
“My first concern was to find the owner but on looking at them carefully they were in a poor state, had not been microchipped and I concluded they would not be claimed.
"My main priority then became to ensure they go to loving homes and not be put down.”
"There were so many people commenting, and whilst I have no doubt that their intentions are great, I cannot possibly vet people for suitability.
"This is of course, presuming that no one comes forward, which was not looking likely."
The puppies were collected by the North Clwyd Animal Rescue Centre on Saturday night (June 27).
