Strong trade for British Blues peaks at 12,000gns twice

THERE was a strong trade at the Border British Blue spring show and sale Carlisle where the overall and male champion and reserve male champion both sold for 12,000gns.

The supreme title winner and joint sale leader was Rhymil Jagerbomb, an August 2014-born ET son of Gitan du Pti’t Mayeur out Paulern Audrey consigned by Rhys Millichap, Mid Glamorgan.

A first prize winner at last year’s Royal Highland Show, it was knocked down to D.J. Lloyd and Co., Caersws, Powys.

Aultmore Jumbo

At the same money was the reserve male champion, Aultmore Jumbo, from W.M. Patterson and Son, Keith, Moray.

The June 2014-born ET offspring of Gregmaur Osman and Netherdale Deva was also a big winner in the show ring last season and sold to A. Neachell and Son, Walsall.

Two bulls sold for 10,000gns, the first being January 2015-born Woodend Kenzie, by Bringlee Volkawagon out of Springfield Gloria from Greg Jackson, Penrith. The buyer was J. Lee, Hexham.

 

The next to go for 10,000gns from Marsden Farms, Penistone, South Yorkshire, was Liley Knight. This black April 2014-born son of Dafydd D’Ochain out of Tweedale Heidi sold to D.W. and L.E. Morgan, Newtown, Powys.

 

Messrs Neachell then took 9,800gns for Cromwell Jaguar, a black June 2014-born son of Ballygrange Dudley out of the imported cow, Banquise de la Bocheroule. It went home with E.A. Davies, Llangadog, Carmarthenshire.

 

Another from the Pattersons then sold for 9,000gns. This was Aultmore Jasper, August 2014-born which was from a Twyning Ash Vaughan and Aultmore Gucci flush. It sold to J. Hyslop and Sons, Biggar.

Senior champion

Solway View Jayz

The senior male champion, two-year-old Solway View Jayz, a son of Ballygrange Alex, from Kevin Watret, Annan, sold for 8,500gns to an undisclosed buyer.

 

The other to sell for 8,500gns was July 2014-born Almeley Jasper by Drybarrows Cawdale, consigned by G.L. and K.S. Morgan, Tillington, Herefordshire, which went to Smallburn Farms, Elgin.

 

Females

Leading the female trade at 6,000gns was reserve overall and female champion, Droit Janelle, a December 2014-born ET daughter of Gitan du Pti’t Mayeur and Droit Fancy from Richard Mowbray, Co Tyrone, which sold to Mr Watret.

 

Next at 5,500gns was 11-month-old Pendle Kit Kat by Blue Stone Union consigned by A.M. and E. Hartley, Nelson, Lancashire, which was knocked down to Messrs Michalatos, Cardiff.
