As natural grazers, the Shorthorn Dairy cow can convert forage to milk cost effectively and also has the advantage of the other renowned strong attributes of the Shorthorn breed including good fertility, easy calving and great legs and feet.
“As well as a great range of Dairy Sires for breeding, Shorthorn Sires UK also offers Beef Shorthorn semen.
“Many commercial dairy herds are now contributing to the Morrisons dairy beef supply chain, which places an average of about 600 reared calves into finishing units every month.
“Over the past year, Morrisons has been working closely with Shorthorn Sires UK to source Beef Shorthorn bulls with good shape and easy calving attributes. This has allowed high quality semen to be offered at reasonable rates."
