This was a shearling ewe from the Garngour flock, Clark Farms, Carluke, South Lanarkshire, which had been terminal breed champion.

Home-bred by Castlecairn Vavavoom out of a ewe by Strathbogie Smokey Blue, it has already been inter-breed winner at the Royal Highland and Lesmahagow shows this year and its full sister won at last year’s Great Yorkshire and Royal Highland shows.

It was described by the judge, Jeff Throup, Keighley, as an outstanding example of the breed with youth on its side, which was an easy winner.
