Young boys arrested after pregnant pig attacked and chickens killed on school farm

Chickens were found dead at Westlands School in Sittingbourne, Kent, last Thursday.

They were allegedly stamped on and kicked around the grounds.

It is thought two pregnant cows, a pregnant pig and piglets were also let out of their pens. A pig is also thought to have been kicked and beaten with sticks.

A number of animals were also set free and taps were left running overnight.

Police have now arrested three boys aged 12, 13, and 14 on suspicion of criminal damage and animal cruelty, Kent Online reported.

Swale Academies Trust principal Jon Whitcombe, who oversees the management of the Westlands Avenue school, earlier called the perpetrators “mindless hooligans”.

A young farmer from the school took to social media to share her thoughts on the attacks.

Her post has been shared over 33,000 times on Facebook.

It reads: "Today at Westlands Farm we had to see dead animals and had to get the vet out. This is due to four boys trespassing on the farm for four days straight.

"This morning, two pregnant cows, a pregnant pig and seven piglets were all let out.

"The pig was found lying in the straw barn with the two cows in front of her. The pig could barely walk back to her pen.

"When we looked on the CCTV it was found to be that the boys had beaten the pig with sticks and kicked her.

"Also on the CCTV we have seen a horrific sight that the boys had stamped on chicken’s heads and kicked them across the farm.

"On the playground we found feathers scattered across it with blood. I want those boys to be punished."
