THE sale of Valais Blacknose sheep at Carlisle topped at 10,000gns for the yearling ram Highland Egbert, from Raymond Irvine and Jenni McAllister, Ballindoch.

Highland Egbert sold for 10,000gns

It sold to Christine Reed, of the New Zealand Valais Blacknose Sheep Society, who also bought the 2016-born ewes, Highland Diamond and Highland Deedee, from the same vendors for 5,500gns and 4000gns.


Tim Dunne, Appleby, Cumbria, sold the ram lambs, Westmorland Follie Bergere for 3,500gns to Charlotte Wemyss, Kirkcaldy, Fife, and Westmorland Fred for 3,200gns to V. Carter, Lockerbie.


Henry and Emily Duncan, Dumfries, sold ewe Whitehall Esther for 2,600gns to Paul McMillan, Newton Stewart.
