Built on a 100hp Yanmar tracked dumper, the new Vector Powerdrive Model 8 tracked post-driver requires one person to operate it.

Based on a tracked dumper, the Model 8 tracked post driver requires just one person to operate it. When fencing, the operator can control the entire machine externally, allowing them to drive from one post to another and operate the post driver from one bank of hydraulic controls.

A hydraulically powered slewing arm, featuring a 220 degree slewing angle, makes it possible to drive fencing stakes or posts from either side of the tracked vehicle.

For flexibility, the post-driver can extend outwards telescopically and the post driving mast can be tilted left or right by 30 degrees, forwards by 25 degrees and backwards by 45 degrees.

As standard, a support jack is integrated into the design of the machine to help stabilise it where required. A 600kg counterbalance is also mounted at the opposite end to the post driver to improve stability.

The Vector Powerdrive Model 8 features a 220 degree slewing angle and the post-driver can extend outwards telescopically from 2m to 2.8m.

Other standard equipment includes a rock-spike mounted on the mast, a de-mountable front frame for carrying up to 80 fence posts, wire straining device and dispensing points for netting, barbed and standard high-tensile fencing wire.

For transport, the post-driver unit can be positioned directly behind the rubber tracked crawler.

Outside of the fencing season or to increase versatility of the donor machine, the fencing unit can be removed and the dumper body re-fitted.

Vector Powerdrive builds the entire post-driver unit on donor vehicle, new or used, which it can supply or alternatively the customer can provide. The machine pictured is a Yanmar C50R, five tonne tracked dumper with a Yanmar 100hp four-cylinder diesel engine.

The machine has a retail price of £33,000-£42,000 (€40,000-€50,000) plus VAT, depending on donor vehicle.
