Wholecrop’s flexibility meets demands of diet:

Wholecrop – love it or hate it. Dairy Farmer editor, Peter Hollinshead visited Harper Adams to look at the wholecrop trials being jointly run by NIAB and Biotal, and who better to take us through what they are doing than Biotal’s technical manager Roy Eastlake.

Big boost from clover

Mixtures of grasses that can challenge the yields of straight ryegrass, long term leys that can match short term ones, and clovers which can not only boost the palatability of our leys but increase yields as well. That’s just a few of the things emerging from the plots at Harpers Adams but to take us to the very heart of things, I’m joined by Francis Dunne of Field Options, who is running these trials.
