Fancy testing the latest tractors and machinery before anyone else gets their hands on them? Or being paid to go to shows such as Lamma, Agritechnica and Sima and reporting on the latest kit?
If it sounds like your dream job, we are looking for a machinery and farm technology specialist to join our award-winning editorial team.
Based in our Preston, Lancashire HQ, we’re seeking an enthusiastic team player to write and report across Farmers Guardian, Arable Farming, Dairy Farmer and our website, www.fginsight.com. We also run Lamma show, CropTec and the British Farming Awards.
The role includes reporting from major machinery launches and events, keeping up to date with the latest kit and technology, carrying out machinery and equipment evaluations, and interviewing farmers and contractors about equipment.
Previous journalistic experience is not essential, however, you will need an aptitude for writing, and you will need to be flexible in terms of your working day/week, as well as being prepared to travel. You will also need a full driving licence, and the ideal candidate will be confident operating farm machinery. The position is ideally suited to someone seeking their first job in agricultural journalism.
The position offers a competitive salary and excellent package, including 25 days holiday, contributory pension plan, free life assurance and childcare voucher scheme.
To apply, please send your CV and covering letter, along with any examples of your work, to the group head of content, Emma Penny, email firstname.lastname@example.org. The closing date is September 31.
