WELSH Black bulls sold to 15,200gns at the breed society’s Farmers Guardian supported sale at Dolgellau, where the clearance rate was 81 per cent.
The sale leader was Deiniolen William, a 17-month-old son of Ynysfor William 6 from Michael Wyn Jones a’i Fab, Penisarwaen, Caernarfon. The buyer was T.W. Williams and Co, Brithdir, Dolgellau.
Next at 10,200gns was June 2019-born Caran Caleb 4 by Tryfil Caleb consigned by Dilwyn B. Jenkins, Cerrigcaranau, Talybont, which was knocked down to A. and W. Jones, Corwen.
Dyfnant Rhys 18, a May 2019-born son of Llechwedd Rhys from D. Glyn Thomas, Llanddeusant, sold for 9,200gns to D.G. Jenkins, Tanrallt, Talybont.
Females topped at 2,150gns for the in-calf heifer, Tryfil Meriel 8 from I.G. Roberts, Ynys Mon, which went to James Watkins of Radnor Mineral Water, Knighton.
Mynach Gwyneth 70, a maiden heifer consigned by A. and R.C. Williams, Cwmtirmynach, Bala, sold for 2,000gns to D.G. Williams, Eglwys Bach.
Two maiden heifer sold for 1,950gns each. The first was Mynach Gwyneth 69, also from A. and R.C. Williams, which went to D. Alpe, Whitewell.
The other at this money was Graig Goch Bet 68 from Emyr and Gerwyn Jones, Nebo, Llanrwst, which was bought by C.R. Talbot, Stafford.
