A team of five took to the roads for a charity cycle to raise money for The Derbyshire Fire and rescue services
Brothers Richard Adams, 23, Andy Adams, Andy Wilson, 22, Ben Chadfield, 22 and George Wells, 21, set off from base at 6am on Thursday, May 8, and arrived in Blackpool at 6pm.
The boys took turns to wear a weighty fireman’s outfit to add to their challenge and also to highlight the good cause they were raising money for – Derbsyhire Fire and Rescue.
Calling in at the Farmers Guardian’s office in Preston, Lancashire, the quintet were in good spirits despite the heavy rain that they faced throughout the journey.
Club chairman Ben says: “We had a meeting at the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue HQ and we know they are the first port of call for a lot of farmers. It was a bit of a last minute thing but it’s a good thing to do.”
Each of the boys cycled 20 miles each on the one bike before swapping with the next member.
So far their fundraising challenge has raised £700.
