Environmental Health Officer, Part-time; 21.75 hours per week
Band F, salary £17,090 - £18,960 per annum
North West Leicestershire is arguably one of the best strategically placed districts in the country – often referred to as being in the ‘Golden Triangle’.
It sits between Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire with easy access to Leicester, Nottingham and Derby, the M42, the M1 and East Midlands Airport.
In addition, half the district is covered by The National Forest making it a desirable and convenient location to live and work. The council has good relationships with partners and stakeholders across all sectors and benefits from being well managed financially and from having a coaching culture; underlining people focus and a forward-thinking approach.
Within the district you will find an international airport (the UK’s largest cargo airport at that), this is next door to one of the country’s major motor sport and festival venues, Donington Park. You will be a key part of making sure events, attracting tens of thousands of people, are safe and run smoothly. We also have a range of food manufacturers in the district and we are Primary Authority for HMS Host UK Ltd.
Applications are welcomed from experienced Environmental Health Officers who are either seeking to further their career.
You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build and maintain rapport with customers. Previous experience of food safety and health and safety enforcement is essential. In return we offer a friendly, supportive work environment with opportunities for further training and development.
