Farm Technical Data Officer – East Midlands

Farm Technical Data Officer required to join a fast paced international business involved in environmental consultancy, farm data collection and on-farm assessments across the UK and overseas. The Officer will work within the established technical team in a development capacity, and will help to maintain and enhance data quality and also assist with the further development to systems and processes; helping to ensure the delivery of high quality services at all times. The company are keen to maintain and enhance data quality & accuracy as they expand into new international markets and continue to refine their work practices - finding new and innovative ways in which they deliver their services. Training will be provided as necessary in company systems and in agricultural practices, production systems - the individual appointed will rapidly become an important part of the team working directly with large clients in the UK and abroad.

  • Working as part of the Technical team which comprises of analytical, research and technical project support staff
  • Working closely with other departments of the business
  • Full systems and data analysis training will be provided
  • Helping farmers and growers to improve their businesses (efficiency, productivity and environmental impact) for the future.

The role will be mainly office based in the East Midlands, although there will be the opportunity to travel regularly to relevant meetings and training events in the UK & overseas.

Candidate Requirements

· Sound knowledge of at least one sector of livestock production or crop production

· Degree, or similar qualification, in agriculture, animal science, environmental science, horticulture, or a related subject.

· Ideally 1 – 2 years’ work experience to include some experience in project support, data collection or data analysis.

· Strong analytic skills with some experience of data analysis and databases

· Excellent IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

· Good communications skills and attention to detail.

· Open to new ideas, creative, with a “can-do” attitude

Location: East Midlands

Salary: £25-30k depending on experience
