We are working with a highly regarded agricultural levy board that plays a vital role in driving forwards efficiency of British farming and livestock production. Using funding from farmers and other independents from the industry, our client carries out extensive research and development work then distributes the results amongst the agricultural industry in order to share their knowledge and improve industry standards.
We are currently assisting them as they look to strengthen their Arable Knowledge Team by engaging a Knowledge Exchange Manager for Cereal and Oilseed crops. You would be based in the North West and play a key part in linking innovative R&D to the UK arable industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
Contributing to the development of knowledge exchange activity and actively engaging with those in the arable sector.
Understanding the needs of the levy payers by travelling around the North West to meet farmers and agronomists to ensure that you have an in-depth knowledge of their priorities.
Using this understanding to develop a national agenda across the cereals and oilseeds sector.
Ensuring that you have a deep and consistent knowledge of all industry changes, challenges and innovations.
The right person will:
Have relevant farming experience and a good knowledge of the industry.
Be a fantastic communicator with great interpersonal skills.
Ideally be FACTS & BASIS qualified.
Have experience of developing new, dynamic knowledge exchange approaches.
Have strong project management skills.
Be passionate and enthusiastic.
Be a strong influence.
There will be extensive travel involved in this role so it is essential that you are able to do this and that you have a full UK driving licence.
