Big engine, small chassis is essentially the concept behind Polaris’ latest mid-sized UTV Ranger.
Featuring a 760cc V-Twin, electronic fuel injected engine, the firm touts the 800 EFI as an easy to manoeuvre machine with all the capabilities of its bigger siblings.
With a top speed of 55mph, it produces 50hp and is capable of towing loads of up to 566kg.
An automatic continuously variable transmission takes care of speed selection which includes high, low and reverse ranges.
Ground clearance is 254mm, with 228mm of travel coming from its front and rear independent suspension. To adapt to varying loads, the rear suspension can be stiffened up via five settings.
Switchable four-wheel drive can be selected on the move and to make tight turns easier when in two-wheel drive, the rear differential can also be unlocked. Stopping power comes from hydraulic disc brakes all round.
At the rear, a cargo dump box can handle up to 453kg, which can be tipped and features tie down points. Accessories include doors, windows, roofs and lighting kits.
