Is it believed Adrian Owen, 33, was conducting routine TB tests when he was injured by the bull at Ashwood Farm in Whitchurch on December 3.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said the dairy farmer was airlifted to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire but died shortly afterwards.

Mr Owen was a popular member of the local farming community, having been involved in NFYFC.

He was also well known in the Mid Wales area, having farmed at Sychlyn, Pools Quay and Lower Varchoel, near Guilsfield.

An inquest was opened and adjourned yesterday (Monday) by Shropshire Coroner John Ellery in Shrewsbury.

The Health and Safety Executive is investigating the cause of the accident with West Mercia Police.
