A top price of 35,000gns and an average of £6,683.85, up £905.87 on the year were the highlights of the sale of Limousin cattle at Carlisle.
The sale leader was Ampertaine Punch, a March 2019-born bull from W.J. and James McKay, Maghera, Co Derry. The first son of Ampertaine Majestic to be sold and out of Ampertaine Millie, it was knocked down to Boden and Davies, Stockport.
Next at 24,000gns was May 2019-born Gorrycam Phantom by Lodge Hamlet out of Gorrycam Honey. Consigned by S. Reel, Newry, Co Down, it sold to C.V. and E. Lewis, Welshpool.
Pabo Procters, a March 2019 born son of Derrygullianne Kingbull out of the Sympa daughter, Pabo Jympa, from W.P. Hughes and Son, Anglesey, made 18,000gns, selling to Messrs Jenkinson, Penrith.
Next at 16,500gns was 18-month-old Maraiscote Pedro from J. Nimmo, Wilshaw. By Bassingfield Machoman, it sold to the Killerton herd, Columbjohn Farm, Exeter.
Balfour Baillie, Orkney, then paid 14,000gns for Redriver Powerful, an April 2019-born Lodge Hamlet son consigned by J.A.D. Hunter, Annan.
Making 11,000gns was one of the youngest bulls in the sale, 15-mpnth-old Millgate Paul by Millgate Jack from M. Loughran, Cookstown, Co Tyrone, which sold to W.I. and A.W. Callion, Stirling.
