A new Covid-19 testing kit, which detects the virus on surfaces and equipment, is set to help farm businesses trade safely during the pandemic.
Distributed by agricultural materials analysis specialist, Eurofins Agro UK, and developed by parent company Eurofins Scientific, the test is designed to detect Covid-19 in packaging and on handling facilities.
With the coronavirus able to survive on surfaces for up to 72 hours, the kit contains swabs that are used to take a sample from potentially contaminated surfaces, such as door handles, canteens and machinery.
The company said the test ‘will help a farm or business’s ability to trade during the pandemic’, while also offering a new way to protect employees and the public from the virus.
Test results take 48 hours to be confirmed and prices start at approximately £100 per test, but the organisation added the price point would be reduced ‘significantly’ for users who required larger volumes.
Those looking to test have been directed to contact Eurofins directly on 01902 627 227 or email AgroTesting@eurofins.co.uk.
